A weekend bag can become a confession. Pack too much and the trip starts to feel uncertain before it begins. Pack too little and every plan asks for compromise. Footwear should be the first decision because it sets the pace of everything else. A pair that can handle walking, weather and casual dinners reduces the need for a second option. If the weekend includes a more formal plan, then a second pair might be worth the space; otherwise, one strong pair can organize the entire bag.
